William Butler - Education"
"Education Equality Project"
The debate over the dueling statements emerged in the presidential campaign briefly earlier this month. In a New York City speech, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who is to be nominated by the Republican's next week in St. Paul, Minn., said he would sign the Education Equality Project's statement and challenged Sen. Obama to do so.
Sen. Obama's campaign didn't respond to Sen. McCain's speech. After both the "Broader, Bolder" and Education Equality statements were released in June, an Obama campaign aide said that the Illinois Democrat endorsed the sentiments in both statements because he believes federal policymakers should improve access to health care and social services while also working to improve schools.
The "Broader Bolder" act:
On accountability, the draft says Democrats would use the No Child Left Behind law to track whether schools are closing the achievement gap between white students and minorities.
The draft also promises to expand learning opportunities by extending the school day, offering summer school, and other efforts to help students, according to one of the proposals listed in the "Broader, Bolder" statement.
Outside of education, the platform outlines a plan to provide "affordable, quality health care coverage for all Americans," a priority of the "Broader, Bolder" statement. "I have no doubt that bad schools significantly contribute to [lower] student achievement," Mr. Klein said in an interview. "Why do we want to let schools off the hook?"
Critics have said that the "Broader, Bolder" statement would do just that because it doesn't emphasize how to hold schools accountable and it does not explain how it will require schools to improve the academic outcomes of students.
Education Week.org August 27, 2008
Entertaining Ideas of the Broader Bolder policy is one example of how the Democrats are wasting time and money on issues that have no explanation on improving academic results from those students because it does not hold students accountable. Therefore it does nothing but increase government spending on projects that have no proven substantial outcome. Instead of working on the child's self esteem issues why not educate them and grow their confidence therefore feeding their self esteem in the process?
Thomas & Charity Gibson - Obama's Experience:
In the end, Mr. Obama chose neither to vote for nor against the bill. He voted "present", effectively sidestepping the issue, an option he invoked nearly 130 times as a state senator. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, his chief rival for the Democratic nomination, has seized on the present votes he cast on a series of anti-abortion bills to portray Mr. Obama as a "talker" rather than a "doer."
Although a present vote is not unusual in Illinois, Mr. Obama's use of it is being raised as he tries to distinguish himself as a leader who will take on the tough issues, even if it means telling people the "hard truths" they do not want to hear.
Was a Yes or No just too hard to give? If O'bama plans to take on the big issues we'll need more assurances than just a "present vote."
"I came back and suspended my campaign and got the House into the negotiations at the table, which they had not been before. We were able to get a large increase in the number of Republicans who voted for it. We were able to make significant changes in the bill, which improved it rather dramatically. And I'm confident it will go through the House of Representatives."
McCain said Obama's approach was to "phone it in" -- in regards to working with congressional leaders. "That's the difference. I suspended my campaign and put my country first." -John McCain CNN News.com Oct 2, 2008
Apparently O'bama is too busy "campaigning" to worry about our country's financial issues. Barack O'Bama voted against the 2007 military surge and he was wrong because it worked. Sen. Barack Obama's perceived lack of experience may be a huge obstacle to his chances of winning the Democratic presidential nomination, according to a CBS News poll released Wednesday. August 15th 2007

Lloyd Hunter - Health Care:
The difference between the 2 plans:
Barack Obama is looking to rely mostly on the heavy hand of the government and will impose caps on health care premiums and price controls on drug companies. He would then have the government establish national practice standards for health providers and doctors. The National Health Insurance Exchange, another plan he wants to create, will act as a sort of clearinghouse to make it easier for individuals and businesses to shop around for the best health care.
John McCain is looking to attempt promotion of greater competition among health insurance companies, allowing rates to fall from the growing competition across state lines (without any use of the government's power). The purpose of the plan is allow freedom of choice and puts Americans in the position to insist on lower costs for higher quality, just as we do with any other product or service we purchase.
So we have two choices: Either the government controls our health care and has one more foot in the door to controlling our lives or we get to keep the control and insist on lower costs and higher quality. Are we willing to give the government one more area of control in our lives or are we going to vote for Republicans who want to bring the government back on the side of the people not controlling the people.
Michael & Collin Winthrop - Sex Education:
"Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., told Planned Parenthood Tuesday that sex education for kindergarteners, as long as it is 'age-appropriate,' is 'the right thing to do.' 'But it's the right thing to do,' Obama continued, 'to provide age-appropriate sex education, science-based sex education in schools.'"
Here's what Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki is telling The Brody File this morning:
"Barack Obama supports sensible, community-driven education for children because, among other things, he believes it could help protect them from pedophiles. A child's knowledge of the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touching is crucial to keeping them safe from predators."
So, at this point at least, what Obama is referring to is teaching five year olds about inappropriate touching. The Obama campaign also tells The Brody File that parents would be able to opt out. As for further details, the touching aspect seems to be the main idea here. Obama doesn't want to hand out condoms to five year olds. He doesn't want cucumber demonstrations as part of show and tell.
The legitimate reasonable discussion here is whether the federal government and/or local school boards should get involved in providing these five year olds information about inappropriate touching or should it be left up to families only.

Cesar Ortega - Change We Need?:
Well this one was easy we just quoted one of O'Bama's speeches.
Hollywood Tells Me Who to Vote For - Why be Informed? O'Bama is cool:
Oprah had O'bama on her show but would not invite Sarah Palin or John McCain.
December 8, 2007 - Oprah pushes campaign on change and hypes O'Bama
September 5, 2008 - Oprah is quoted by Us Magazine. "Oprah Winfrey is not interested in interviewing Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin until after the election is over. "At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates," Winfrey, who was an early backer of Barack Obama, says in a statement to TMZ.com.
It's unfortunate that not all of us have multi millions of dollars and influence over millions of people everyday like Oprah does.
O'bama has gives a Hollywood Speech:
Barbra Streisand will be among the headliners at a fund-raiser for Barack Obama on Sept. 16, where she will perform for the presidential candidate at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The plans for the event were outlined this morning and Streisand confirmed that she would take the stage. The hotel ballroom holds an estimated 700 people. Obama's fund-raiser is expected to be his final visit to raise money here before the general election.
Obama will start the evening with a 5 p.m. dinner event for about 250 people at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, the historic estate once owned by the legendary Doheny family. Tickets for the event are $28,500. That's 19,950,000. Later, he will attend a reception at the Beverly Wilshire, followed by Streisand's special performance. Tickets for the event are $2,500 per person.
O'bama asked for the DNC to move his speech Pepsi arena to the Invesco Stadium because they had a bigger floating stage for his speech. At this point he was spending more money than his campaign was bringing in at the time. Therefore Hollywood has hosted a "get out of debt dinner." If he can't spend his own campaign money without going into debt, what makes you think he can spend our money? Thanks again for Hollywood bailing him out!
Mike Bolton - Give More Taxes:
That is for the 95% that Barack Obama claims that will receive tax cuts under his plan while the other five percent receive a tax increase. Now, first of all, this 95% figure comes directly from his own campaign. There is no way to fact check such a number because the number is entirely a projection. Here is what we know. Barack Obama plans on raising the top two tax brackets, the capital gains tax, the payroll tax on anyone making 250,000 and more, and re instituting the inheritance tax. We know this, and so that 5% figure depends entirely on very few people earning a lot of money, investing a lot, and dying. If of course, we have a lot of people that make a lot of money, invest a lot, and die, then that 95% figure is nothing more than a campaign slogan.
That is for the percentage of the population doesn't pay any taxes at all. Under his plan, these folks will get what he considers a tax cut, though you can't get a tax cut if you pay no taxes. These folks will get a government welfare check. Barack Obama is fond of saying that 95% of the population will get a tax cut. Of course, that isn't entirely accurate. Five percent of the population will get a tax increase, 55% will get a tax cut, and the other 40% will get a government welfare check. What Barack Obama is really proposing is no different than an expansion of welfare, food stamps, and unemployment insurance. In other words, he is proposing that nearly half the population now become even more dependent on the government to survive. Talk about a disincentive to work. Here is someone making 25k per year. They pay no federal taxes
So basically let's take money from the rich who worked hard for it and give it to the poor because the government says we should. This figure doesn't cover all the small businesses that will be taxed to high heaven because their income is over 250,000 a year and they still have to pay expense, payroll and utilities. They will be the ones who will suffer the most. Not too mention how many middle class folks own small businesses. That is how they plan to get around this issue of only taxing the rich. Besides, should a rich person be penalized for being successful? The government is saying work hard, but not too hard or we'll have to take your money and give it to someone who hasn't worked as hard as you or was just not as lucky.

Frank Marshall -Meet With Terrorists Unconditionally:
Barack Obama's Iraq policy will hand al-Qaeda a victory and undercut our entire position in the Middle East, while at the same time put a huge source of oil in the hands of terrorists. Barack Obama brags on his website that "In January 2007, he introduced legislation in the Senate to remove all of our combat troops from Iraq by March 2008." His website further states that "Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months." This, at the very time our greatest successes in Iraq have taken place. And yet, as Gen. David Petraeus has stated (along with other military experts from Michael O'Hanlon at the Brookings Institution to members of the U.S. military), our progress in Iraq is "fragile and reversible."
A questioner asked in a July 23, 2007, Democratic debate if the candidates would be "willing to meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea, in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries?"
"I would," Obama said. "And the reason is this, that the notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them - which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this administration - is ridiculous."
McCain in a statement on May 21: "Senator Obama's desire to meet unconditionally in his first year at the presidential level with Iranian leaders" as "reckless, and demonstrates poor judgment that will make the world more dangerous."
"If without pre-condition you sit down across the table from someone who hates another country and wants to destroy that country and wipe it off the map you legitimize their comments and that's dangerous." - John McCain Debate Sept 2008
As President Barack O'Bama has claimed he will walk into a meeting in his first year of presidency without pre-condition. This is stupid and dangerous for the leader of a nation as the proper security measures should be taken. Minus the fact that we legitimize that country's hatred of their enemies who than become our enemies. Let's just think positively as he has since backed out of his comment saying he'd rethink this notion and never intended the comment to come across in that manner. So even with this positive spin are we willing to have a candidate for president who is so inexperienced that he originally though this was a good idea?
Jay Cooper - I Don't Mind If Other Countries Tell Me What To Pay For Gas:
Barack Obama opposes drilling on and offshore to reduce gas and oil prices. While Barack Obama has opposed off-shore drilling and a gas-tax holiday (as supported by John McCain or Hillary Clinton), his solution to our energy crisis does include additional tax burdens on oil company profits, taxes we can only imagine will be passed on to the consumer, thus causing an even more expensive trip to the gas station. As the New York Times recently detailed, ethanol subsidies are a major plank in Barack Obama's view of energy independence and national security; the "Obama Camp is Closely Linked with Ethanol," and "Mr. Obama...favors [ethanol] subsidies, some of which end up in the hands of the same oil companies he says should be subjected to a windfall profits tax."
If we are always dependant on gas from foreign countries the United States will never have a say in how much they can charge us. It's a matter of supply and demand. They know we need it and they charge us what they want. There are new and safer methods for our coastal drilling. While this is a touchy issue regarding environmentalists we have to have the option to say "we'll use our own resources". With Anwar, and drilling on 2,000 acres plus our natural resources the United States has more resources then eastern Europe. What a stupid country are we to pay countries that hate us, billions of dollars to depend on what they give us when we have it in our own backyard. Joe Biden was quoted in his speech saying that it will take 10 years to get a drop of oil. Well if President Clinton would not have vetoed this bill we'd have oil now if this is true. Researches predict it to be closer to five years. In addition, do we really expect the cost of oil to go down in the future? No. It will continually go up so its time to tap into our resources now or pay the price later.
Sarah Charles - A Woman Can Do Anything Except Be Our Presidential Nominee:
The Democratic party is a huge supporter of women. Feminists tend to be more liberal and welcome the idea that a woman can do anything. Hillary Clinton was received in a positive manner by the party however when Governor Palin was nominated to the Republican ticket and Hillary has since been beaten by O'bama. Joe Biden was quoted saying, "this is a step backward for women." Apparently, being in the 2nd highest position is a "step backward" unless your with the Democratic party.
He was quoted saying this on News Channel 4 TNJ on Sept 9th 2008

Majority of the media coverage in the United States is slanted towards a leftist liberal agenda. By "Spreading the Word" about some of the true intentions of liberal candidates from the Democrat Party, we are leveling the playing field so that everyday americans can make informed choices without the constant brainwashing of so-called "journlists".
